Nigeria hope Chelsea winger Victor Moses will recover from a hamstring injury in time for Friday’s showdown against defending African Cup of Nations champions Zambia.

Moses did not feature in Monday’s 1-1 draw with Burkina Faso as a result of this injury.

In his place, Dynamo Kiev striker Brown Ideye made the starting line-up and interchanged positions with top striker Emmanuel Emenike.

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi said he hopes the Chelsea star regains full fitness.

“We hope he is fit for our next match against Zambia because at the last practice game in Portugal he had a hamstring injury,” Keshi told Super Sport.

“Two days ago, he showed the injury came back so I decided to leave him out because we have a lot of games ahead and I need him for them, so playing him would have been a risk.”

Celtic Glasgow defender Efe Ambrose will miss Friday’s clash against Zambia after his sending off against Burkina Faso and it is now most likely Nigeria U20 star Kenneth Omeruo will get his second competitive cap for the full international side.
