Rayon Sports drop five players
Rwanda’s Rayon Sports have parted ways with five players who were described as ‘dormant and great liability “ to the Nyanza based outfit.
Among those who were released to join other clubs ahead of the forthcoming season after being deemed surplus include Jean Bosco Harolimana, Donatien Tuyizere alias Jojori, Yusuf Munyakayanza, Alfonse Nizeyimana, and Salom Gasangwa .
Rwandan international left full back Tuyizere is reported to have joined last season runners-up Police FC on a two-year deal.
“We have decided to release the five players not because they are not good but because they don’t fit in the coach’s plans for next season,” Rayon Sports secretary general, Olivier Gakwaya told the Rwanda’s New times publication.
Keeping them at the club,he added, would not be fair as they were not having enough time to play, so by allowing them to leave, gives them the chance to find teams where they would be able to play regularly.
On September 1, Rayon Sports will face Peace Cup winners AS Kigali in the inaugural Super Cup at Stade de Kigali.
