Kenya steps up preps for EA Challenge Cup
THE Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations, Cecafa has started that preparations for this year’s edition of the Senior Challenge Cup are on the right track.
The body’s secretary general Nicholas Musonye said on Wednesday that so far the Kenya Football Federation has been busy to organize the oldest championship in region.
Musonye declined to announce the date for the event but said it will be within November this year when most of the premierships in the region will attain half way stage.
Uganda is the regional champions for a record 13th time and holders for the second edition running.
Uganda is on their way to win a hat-trick of titles with possibility of taking the trophy for keeps.
National teams expected to compete in the championship revived in 1973 in Kampala include Mainland Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Zanzibar and other invitees whose number is yet to be established.
