Serugaba might feature for USL Pro league
Former AS Kigali right winger Eric Serugaba is likely to feature in the United States of America second division league usually known as USL Pro Division if his talks with agents mature.
Serugaba who left Kigali two months ago to reunited with his wife who is studying in US said that this is in light of continuing with his football career.
The former Kiyovu skipper who signed a two-year deal with AS Kigali in July played nine matches this season and is keen to start a fresh challenge after failing to feature for the national side-Amavubi.
“When I started training, the agents witnessed my skills and asked me to provide archive videos while playing in Rwanda. Luckily enough, I had traveled with them. They were impressed and promised to find me a club where I can continue with my career.”
Serugaba added that, “The agents have asked me to first seek for the immigration permit to settle in the United States of America, if I am to join any club in here.”
The 23 year old player started his career with the Northern based team Etincelles in 2008 before joining APR in 2009. Serugaba transferred to Kiyovu where he became recognized for his outstanding performance.
His transfer move to AS Kigali came with bitterness after his former club Kiyovu failed to support him during the long knee injury which he endured on January12 while playing against Musanze FC.
When asked if he will ever step return to Rwanda, Serugaba said, “Yes I will, but to visit friends and family. Rwanda is my home country.”
