Tardy picks 16 Under-17 players for 2015 Afcon
Head coach Richard Tardy has picked up a strong 26-man team to start preparations for the 2015 Africa youth qualifiers.
According to Tardy, they have picked the players and will engage them in intensive preparations so as to keep them in good shape ahead of the continental qualifiers.
A total of 38 countries are set to compete in the qualifiers set to start in June this year.
In 2011, Rwanda hosted the African qualifiers and eventually finished second runner-ups to qualify for the first ever World Cup final held in Mexico.
However, they couldn’t repeat the same feat in 2013 as they were sent packing by Botswana after a 6-7 loss on penalties with both sides drawing 1-1 in a two-legged game.
Nigeria are defending champions and they also won the World Cup in 2013.
The 2015 African tournament will be held in Niger.
