Iranzi eager to return
APR and Amavubi Stars wing-back Jean Claude Iranzi is hoping to recover from a knee injury and play a part in the closing stages of his team’s league title chase.
The 23-year old Iranzi picked the injury a month ago in league match against Police which the army side won 1-0, but is expected to start light training next week.
Second-placed APR face Iranzi’s former club SC Kiyovu in the league on Saturday at Kigali regional stadium. Leaders Rayon Sports will be up against Marines FC in Rubavu on Saturday.
“It is frustrating to spend a whole month on the sidelines and unable to help your team to achieve the set goals, but I am making good recovery, and I hope to play a part in last few games of the season,” Iranzi said on Thursday.
APR stand in second position tied on 52 points with leaders and defending champions Rayon Sports but the latter leads on advantage of goal difference (27) compared to the military side’s 24.
