Burundian Razak joins Sofapaka
The Kenyan Premier League midseason transfer window is gaining momentum with Sofapaka splashing a staggering Sh2.1 million to acquire the services of Burundian national Abdul Fiston Razak.
The striker joined the Batoto Ba Mungu from Lydia Ludic Burundi Academic last week and featured in their goalless draw against Ulinzi Stars in a KPL match at the Kenyatta Stadium on Sunday.
Another expensive signing in the ongoing transfer window is offensive midfielder Humphrey Mieno who joined AFC Leopards on a Sh1.2 million transfer fee after terminating his contract with Sofapaka.
Mieno joined the den early last week barely six months after re-joining the 2009 Kenyan Premier League champions from Tanzanian side Azam.
At the same time, former Mathare United striker Meshack Karani cost Chemelil Sugar Sh200, 000. The sugar millers have been in the market to beef up their striking force with a proven goal poacher and settled for the speedy forward who made an instant impact by netting a brace on his debut on Sunday as Chemelil sunk KCB 2-0 at the Chemelil Sports Complex.
