Eymael joins Tunisia’s Jeunesse Sportif de Kairouan
Former Rayon Sports manager Belgian Luc Eymael has joined Jeunesse Sportif de Kairouan of Tunisia on a one-year contract.
Eymael who will be paid $8000 has been tasked to help Jeunesse Sportif de Kairouan win the Tunisian football league title next season.
The Belgian terminated his contract with Rayon Sports in May this year after finding it impossible to serve an eight-match ban following his poor misconduct last season.
He was paid a total of US$5000 (Rwf. 3.4m) to the latter as his 100-day stint in Rwanda came to an end.
Rayon Sports and Eymael decided to part ways after Ferwafa lessened sanctions slapped against the Belgian over his involvement in violence during a league match last season.
The sanctions were reduced to a ban of eight matches instead of two years and a fine of Rwf200, 000 following an appeal last month.
Eymael, who replaced Didier Gomes da Rosa in January this year, had promised to take the club as far as possible in the Africa club champion’s league and win at least one of the titles on the local scene.
But the club was knocked out of the Africa Champions League after playing a 2-2 draw against 10-man AC Leopards to exit the Caf Champions League at the preliminary round on the away goal rule.
The blues also lost the league title to rivals APR with Rayon Sports finishing second with two points behind the military side.
Jeunesse Sportive Kairouanaise often referred to as JSK, is a football club from Kairouan in Tunisia. Founded in 1942, the team plays in green and white colours. Their ground is Stade Ali Zouaoui, which has a capacity of 15,000.
