2014/15 league season kicks off on Sept 20
THE FORTHCOMING Rwanda premier league season will kick off on September 20 according to local football federation, Ferwafa.
The Ferwafa Secretary General Olivier Mulindahabi confirmed the development yesterday in a statement sent to clubs urging them to process all the needed documents regarding their players to the federation.
According to Mulindahabi, players will only be licensed if their clubs a list of their players, national identity cards, contracts between the club and players, release letters in case of local players acquired by another club or international transfer certificates if the player has been featuring in a foreign league.
Ferwafa has set the submission deadline to September 8.
Meanwhile, members of Rwanda football federation will meet in an annual general assembly slated for September 10 at the football house in Remera.
The assembly which has been brought had initially been set for September 12-13 due to a CAF meeting which will also be graced the Ferwafa chairman Vincent Nzamwita in Ethiopia according to Mulindahabi.
APR FC are defending champions after they winning their 14th league title last season.
The military side climaxed the season top of the standings with 64 points and will represent Rwanda at next year’s Orange Africa Champions league as well as Cecafa Kagame club Championship.
They also went ahead to win the Peace Cup title leaving rivals Rayon Sports to automatically win a spot for the next year’s Africa Confederation Cup following their second-place finish in last season’s league.
