Haruna on verge of joining El Merreikh
Amavubi’s Haruna
AMAVUBI skipper Haruna Niyonzima is set to join Sudanese giants El Merreikh on a three-year contract according to reports.
Local media reported on Friday that the former Etincelles and Rayon Sport starlet agreed a three-year deal and would be paid US$3000 (approx Rwf1.95m) per month.
But Yanga has yet to agree anything with El Merreikh. The Tanzanian club has put a $75,000 (about Rwf48,750,000 million) price tag on the Rwandan international, but El Merreikh are still reluctant to fork out that sort of money for a player, who has just six months left on his current contract.
Haruna joined Yanga two years ago from Primus national league champions APR FC in a two-year deal worth $30,000 (about Rwf17m) as a signing on fee and a monthly salary of USD 1500 (Rwf0.95m).
The player has already hinted he’s prepared to quit Yanga.
Meanwhile, El Merreikh has signed Taifa Stars and Azam midfielder Mrisho Ngassa for a fee of $75,000 after both parties reached to an Agreement on Wednesday in Dar es Salaam.
The 23-year-old winger who has spent this season on loan with Tanzanian Champions Simba has signed a two-year deal with the 18-times Sudanese Champions and he will earn $4000 per month.
