Rwanda : Coach Bizimungu sacked
Former Mukura and SC Kiyovu coach Ali Bizimungu has been sacked by six-time league champion Rayon Sport as an assistant coach.
The club chairman Abdallah Murenzi who happens to be Nyanza district mayor told the press that Bizimungu and head coach Didier da Rosa Gomes didn’t have a good working relationship owing to poor communication.
“It is true Bizimungu has been sacked because he was still of good use to head coach. We have told him to look for a suitable assistant coach. He had a poor working communication with Gomes and I think this ignited the sacking,” added Murenzi.
Bizimungu is likely to be replaced by technical director Thierry Hitimana who has also been working as the club’s team manager.
Bizimungu’s sacking follows the recent sacking of his assistant coach Abdul Mbarushimana who resigned from his duties, citing poor working relationship with his bosses last year.
However, Bizimungu denied any wrongdoing at the club. “I don’t agree with them when they say that am not commited to the club. I have dedicated my soul and ability to the club,”
The blues also released three players namely Dhorasso Karangwa, Sacha Dusange and Francois Flamini Usanase. The trio have been unused players ever since the Frenchman took the management of the club in September 2012.
