Rayon confirm interest in Burundian striker Fiston
Burundi’s Fiston Razak
Six-time league champion Rayon Sports have confirmed their interest in signing Burundian born striker Fiston Abdul Razak from LLB academic during this month’s transfer window.
The development was confirmed on Thursday by club chairman and Nyanza District Mayor Abdallah Murenzi. He said that Fiston as well as a central defender will be signed to boost their squad.
“We have started negotiations already and we are set to talk to his club before anything else can be done but we are very optimistic on landing him,”
After making a slow start to the season, Rayon Sport has made strong strides in the last couple of games, moving up the table to sixth position with 19 points, level with Fifth-placed Police FC and a further three points behind table leaders SC Kiyovu.
Rayon has not won the league since 2005 and over the years has been struggling to challenge against arch rivals APR, Atraco and now they have Police, Kiyovu and surprise package AS Kigali to contend with.
