Kayiranga cites financial constraints as a hindrance to winning title

Kayiranga cites financial constraints

Coach Jean Baptist Kayiranga

SC Kiyovu coach Jean Baptist Kayiranga has cited lack of funds which has hit the operation of the club as the only admitted that only barrier which will deny him a chance of winning the first league title for the old giants in 20 years.

SC Kiyovu currently leads the standings with 25 points, one better than second-placed AS Kigali and two ahead of reigning champions APR FC after 12 rounds of matches.

“Lack of finances has been a problem to the club since the season started last year. Players are not paid on time and even take months without a pay and this affects the commitment of players,”

“The same lack of funds will not allow me to recruit new players in this transfer window and this could shatter his dream of guiding the team to a first title since 1993,”

He added, “At this stage, we are capable of winning the league but we need to strengthen the team in key positions. However, if we don’t get the players we need, we shall use the squad available to us.”
