Amavubi Stars forward Meddie Kagere has finalised a playing deal with Primus league club Police FC which will stretch until the end of the season.
Kagere said yesterday, “It is true I have signed a deal with Police FC which will see me playing for them until the end of the season. I will not take part in the Confederation Cup but I will feature in the Primus league and MTN Peace Cup competitions,”
Kagere was released by Tunisian Premier League side, Esperance Sportive de Zarzis, five months after signing a two year contract after the Tunisian side filed for bankruptcy.
Kagere has been one of the two Amavubi Stars in the Tunisian league. Olivier Karekezi plays for another Tunisian side Bizertin.
Kagere signed a two-year deal with the North African side in August from Police at a fee valued at US$150,000. The Uganda-born striker passed trials with Esperance de Zarzis after trotting around the continent, doing trials with South Africa’s Bidvest Wits FC and Pretoria Fc.
In Rwanda, Kagere has featured for the now defunct Atraco, Mukura and Police. Amavubi star spent two seasons at Police, scoring 28 goals in the process.
Police FC has dethroned SC Kiyovu to second position with 26 points while Rayon Sport is third position with 25 points.
Kagere begins his assignment with Police FC when they play away to La Jeunesse at Mumena stadium on Saturday in the second round of the Primus National Football League
