Sentamu hungry to lift Uganda
Uganda Cranes new kid on the block, Junior Yunus Sentamu, has said he is determined to guide the team to the later stages of the 2014 Africa Nations Championships.
The 19-year old who was playing his first game outside the country netted a double to silence Burkina Faso 2-1 in a Group B game played at the Athlone Stadium on Sunday night.
“I am very happy that I scored two goals and also won the man of the man award. I will work hard to see that I score more goals and help my team reach the later stages of the tournament,” said the shy striker who features for SC Vipers back in the Ugandan top flight League.
Sentamu told Supersport.com that he will not be carried away because of the two goals he scored, but will keep cool and keep doing what his Coach and other players tell him to do.
“I am enjoying my time and hopefully we go all the way to the finals,” added the striker.
Cranes Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic was also full of praise for Sentamu whom he said is the future of Ugandan football.
“He does not need to be carried away because of the goals, but remain focused because he has what it takes to be a great player,” added Micho.
The player dedicated his man of the match award to his family whom he says has supported him in his football career.
