Five join AS Kigali
LAST YEAR’S Peace Cup winners AS Kigali have boosted their side with five new signings ahead of the start of next season.
Head coach Andre Cassa Mbungo signed goalkeeper Bate Shamiru (Espoir FC), Innocent Twagirayezu (Esperance FC), Jean Pierre Maombi (Gicumbi FC), Francois Hakizimana (Gicumbi FC) and Jacques Kimenyi from AS Muhanga on separate two-year contract deals.
The new signings come at a time when the youthful club had lost key players such as goalkeeper Emery Mvuyekure, defender Mwemere Ngirinshuti and striker Jimmy Mbaraga, who all joined Police FC with midfielder Mohammed Mushimiyimana joining APR FC.
The club has also renewed contracts for Justin Mico, Latif Bishira, Patrick Umwungeli, Hamidou Ndayisaba, Ibrahim Itangishaka, Sothere Kayumba, Amini Mwizerwa, Rodrigue Murengezi, Mouhamed Kabura and Janvier Mutijima.
Meanwhile, Jean Pierre Hakiri Mabura and Eric Ndahayo have been released.
