Birori must answer for ‘double names’-Nzamwita
Rwanda Football Federation president Vincent ‘De Gaulle’ Nzamwita has stated that striker DadyBirori will answer to CAF why he is featuring on two officials names in competitions organized by the continental body.
DadyBirori as he is known when he is donning Amavubi colors is also known on a second name as TadyEtekiamaAgiti in his AS Vita club.
The issue of the name on DadyBirori was raised by Congo who have since lodged a complaint to CAF on the identity of the Rwanda international, who plays for DR Congo side AS Vital Club using the name TadyEtekiamaAgiti.
The striker, who hails from DR Congo, has played for Rwandan clubs including Mukura Victory Sports and Atraco FC as well as Amavubi Stars as DadyBirori.
Nzamwita said, “We don’t, we don’t have any idea about that, and we also hear about in the media, so it’s him (Birori) who can explain why he changed his name.”
“Here we know him as DadyBirori but if he goes to AS Vital and changes the name, it’s really not our concern and we have responded to CAF clearly, and in any case, we don’t know if he indeed changed his name or its just rumors,” the Ferwafa chief told retorted on Friday.
Amavubi knocked out Congo from the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations- Morocco second round qualifiers 4-3 on penalty shootout after both side drew 2-2 on aggregate after the two legs. Birori played only in the first leg.
In the final round of qualifiers, Rwanda joins Group A which also has Sudan, South Africa and Nigeria.
