Tegete on target as Yanga beat Lyon
Kagame Cup Champions Yanga SC continued with their winning form as they thrashed African Lyon 4-0 at the National Stadium to increase their lead to three points at top of the Vodacom Premier league Standings.
Ernie Brandts’s side got an early lead in the 21st minute of the game through their On form striker Jeryson Tegete who connected a good pass from David Luhende, as Yanga went 1-0 over Lyon.
The Jangwani boys kept on dominating the game, with Tegete on target again for his brace in the 42nd minute of the game after a fine delivered cross from Midfielder Haruna Niyonzima.
After resumption, Hamis Kiiza failed to extended the lead from a penalty spot – after Yanga were awarded a penalty in the 48th minute following a challenge from Lyon’s defender on Haruna Niyonzima in the box.
Second half substitutes Didier Kavumbagu and Nizar Khalfan got themselves in the score sheet in the 70th and 80th minute to seal Yanga’s emphatic 4-0 victory of African Lyon.
With this results, Yanga stay on top of the league standings with 36 points, while African Lyon find themselves at the bottom with nine points.
