Nahimana set to deliver as Kenyan League starts
Amavubi and AFC Leopards defender Jonas Nahimana Pako is set to deliver his best as the Kenyan Premier league starts this weekend in Nairobi.
According to Kenyan media, he has promised fans a season of trophies after the hard lesson of missing out on silverware last season.
“We have to win something this season for the fans. I just feel pity that they had to endure a season of expectation but we couldn’t deliver something for them,”
“As a club we made mistakes that cost us the title last season.”
“We have to aim for the first trophy at hand then push to see that we also can get the league title as well.”
Nahimana was the top scoring defender in the Tusker Premier League with 5 goals and a runners-up to the defender of the year.
Since his arrival in 2011, Nahimana was part of the formidable defence that set a new record of 23 unbeaten matches by the club that stretched between August 2011 and April 2012.
He played in 29 out 30 of Leopards matches last season and has the most number of minutes of play at the club since 2011.
