Gasana joins AS Muhanga on one-year deal
Former Amagaju FC striker Jean Bosco Gasana has signed a one-year contract for this year’s Peace Cup against Malaria semifinalists AS Muhanga from Djibouti side AS Ports. The contract will keep the attacker at the club until next summer.
The 26-year old, who left the country for Djibouti from Kiyovu SC in 2011, played a big role for AS Ports during his two year spell where he helped them to win the Djibouti premier league title in the first season and reach quarter-finals of this year’s CECAFA Kagame Cup that was claimed by Burundian side Vital’O.
The one-time capped Rwandan international turned down offers from his former club Kiyovu in favour of teaming up with his former coach at Amagaju, Ali Bizimungu.
Gasana said on Sunday that, “Yes, on Thursday I signed a one-year contract with AS Muhanga. It was not an easy decision though since I received offers from other national league sides.”
“A few years ago, I did very well under coach Bizimungu at Amagaju FC before for Kiyovu, and then AS Ports and I hope we will be able to work well together once again. Our past good relationship played a big part in my decision,” he added.
