APR-Kiyovu match shifted to Jan. 4, 2014
The Rwanda Football federation has finally shifted the aborted match between APR and SC Kiyovu to January 4, 2014.
According to Ferwafa secretariat, the match will be played at a yet to be identified venue at 3.30pm.
The match was set to be played on December 15 the game had to be called off at the last hour due to the Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF)’s 12th national congress which was still underway at Amahoro stadium.
The Congress which attracted about 3000 party delegates was meant to elect new members of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).
Meanwhile, defending champion Rayon Sport thrashed Marines FC 4-1 in one of the other matches played in the Turbo Football National Football league yesterday at Stade de Kigali, Nyamirambo.
Gentil Kambale Salita opening goal scoring spree on the 3rd minute but Berthe Dusange equalized through a brilliant header on the 33rd minute.
At the stroke of half time, entertaining midfielder Cedric Amissi scored a stunning header to make it 2-0 from a Fuadi Ndayisenga’s corner kick.
After recess, Meddie Kagere replaced injured Salita on the 65th mark and five minutes later, he set up a third goal for Djamal Mwiseneza.
With five minutes to the end of the game, Kagere made it 4-0 with a clean sweep past Marines goal after controlling a neat pass from Ndayisenga.
It was a game which was firmly controlled by the blues who have now ascended to fourth spot, tied on 19 points with Espoir while Marines remained 12th with six points in ten matches played this season.
Elsewhere, Mukura lost at home 2-1 against Musanze. Musanze lie in third position, tied on 20 points with APR who have a superior goal difference.
Police moved to fifth position after registering a 1-0 win over Amagaju to amass 17 points this season.
AS Kigali maintain lead at the summit of the standings with 21 points while Marines and Amagaju remained rooted at the tip of the table with 5 points respectively.
