Rwanda : TARDY ARRAIGNS FEARS OVER LEAGUE CONGESTION
Head coach for Rwanda’s under 20 team has expressed his concerns that fatigue and injury are likely to rock the current under-20 players that are playing in the National League. Richard Tardy was saying this mainly referring to Isonga FC, the youthful team that has in the last few days impressed many with its beautiful flowing football. Tardy pointed out some as being near the “red line”, meaning they were nearing injury as result of the congested National League fixtures.
He continued to say that boys of that age cannot play week in week out as they have been, and expect them to resist injuries like their seniors do.
Isonga FC was incorporated in the National League, mainly to harden and prepare them for the forthcoming under 20 football championships and currently lie 7th in the table. The current team consists many of the boys who Tardy managed at under- 17 level, reaching the final of the under-17 Africa Cup of Nations before losing to Burkina Faso 2-1 here in Kigali.
