APR and Rayon Sport registered crucial wins over the weekend to overthrow leaders AS Kigali at the summit of the Turbo King Football League.
APR beat Amagaju 1-2 in Nyamagabe on Saturday. Charles Tibingana Mwesigye scored the opener for the army side on 27th minutes before Jean De Dieu Hakazimana equalized for the home team in the 63th minutes before Ernest Sugire scored the winner for APR with 25 minutes left.
The game between Espoir and visiting Police in Rusizi ended goalless.
Then on Sunday, Rayon Sports snatched a 2-1 win over AS Kigali at Stade de Kigali.
Skipper Fuadi Ndayisenga and Meddie Kagere found the net for the blues while Akiri Mabula scored the consolation goal for AS Kigali.
APR and Rayon Sports lead the standings with 23 and 22 points while SC Kiyovu is placed third with 21 points after they beat Mukura Victory Sport 1-0 on Saturday.
Kiyovu’s lone goal was scored by Ugandan striker Julius Bakkabulindi through a penalty in the seventh minute after the Mukura defender pulled down midfielder Christian Mbirizi inside the box.
Elsewhere, Musanze was held to a goalless draw by Etincelles while Marines beat Esperance 2-0 as AS Muhanga beat Gicumbi 1-0 all on Sunday.
While on Saturday, Espoir was held to a goalless by Police in Rusizi.
