Coach Eymael to be unveiled Rayon tactician
Coach Luc Eymael
BELGIAN coach Luc Eymael will be revealed as Rayon Sports head coach this week, following his arrival in the country on Saturday in bid to seal a contract deal with the Nyanza-based club.
Arriving in the country, Eymael said, “I am not here for a holiday. I am here to start my work. I will hold talks with Rayon Sports on Monday and find an agreement before proceeding with training on Tuesday,”
Eymael was in the stands as Rayon Sports hosted SC Kiyovu in the match 15 of the Turbo King Football league played on Sunday at Amahoro stadium.
The Rwandan champions have settled on the Belgian to replace Didier Gomes da Rosa, who resigned a fortnight ago and has since sealed a professional contract with Cameroon’s Coton Sport de Garoua.
There had been speculation regarding the next coach for the league champions, with names such as former Atraco coach, now at Sofapaka, Sam Timbe, former APR coach, now with Don Bosco FC of DRC Andy Mfutila, former Police coach Goran Kuponovic and another ex-APR coach Ernie Brandts, who was sacked by Yanga last month.
Eymael is an experienced coach with vast experience in African football having been with clubs like Vita Club of Congo, Missile FC in Gabon, MC Oran in Algeria before proceeding to AFC Leopards of Kenya where he was sacked after two months.
Eymael has a big task at hand as he has to ensure that Rayon Sport excels in the African Champions League where they will face Congolese side AC Leopards in their CAF Champions League preliminary fixture in February; defend the Turbo King Football league title; win 2014 Peace Cup as well as the 2014 Cecafa Kagame Cup.
