Kayiranga joins Mukura on a one-year contract
Former Amavubi assistant coach Jean Baptiste Kayiranga has been appointed head coach of Huye based district club Mukura on a one-year renewable contract.
The club’s secretary General Emmanuel Ntakirutimana who took over the office after Olivier Mulindahabi was named Rwanda football association’s (Ferwafa) secretary general in March confirmed the development yesterday.
Kayiranga, formerly with Rayon Sports, SC Kiyovu helped Gicumbi FC escape relegation last season.
He said yesterday, “Yes it’s true; I’m officially Mukura’s head coach. I signed one year of contract with a possibility of renewal,
The 45-year old Kayiranga added, “At least, finishing in the top four of next season’s national football league is what I signed for and I hope we can make it through together as a team” he noted.
The experienced Kayiranga decided not to announce his salary at Mukura but disclosed that it’s slightly higher than what he was being paid at Gicumbi FC.
Kayiranga helped 2012 second division first runners-up Gicumbi FC finish in the ninth position with 25 points in their maiden season of the topflight division.
As agreed on by both parties, the contract will start running either late July or early August as the team is currently not in action.
