Casa Mbungo eye Amavubi exit
Coach Andre Cassa Mbungo might ditch Amavubi coaching role to continue with his club AS Kigali who are ready to offer him a new contract.
Mbungo said recently, “I am in talks with AS Kigali over a possibility of renewing my contract. Talks have reached 80% and hopefully before the end of next week, the deal will be finalized,”
“For the national team, we were given a one-month contract with a promise of giving us a permanent deal just like the head coach. If nothing is done, I will continue pursuing my career with my club,” added Mbungo.
Mbungo was given trust to manage amavubi when they played a goalless draw against Libya in Tunisia in the first leg of the 2015 Africa Nations Cup qualifier. The return leg was managed by new Briton coach Stephane Constantine.
The Ferwafa SG Mulindahabi Olivier confirmed yesterday that the local coaches will be given permanent contracts with Amavubi before the next crucial qualifier against Congo Brazzaville scheduled for July 18-20.
Head coach Constantine who was given a two-year contract earns $11,000 which is around Rwf. 7 millions per month.
