AS Kigali clinch the national women football championship title for a record sixth time in a row after walloping rivals Kamonyi FC 4-0 in the final played on Saturday at Kigali Regional Stadium.
Reigning champions since 2008, AS Kigali scored their goals through Shadia Uwamahirwe and Anne Marie Ibangarye, who netted a brace each.
AS Kigali head coach Grace Nyinawumuntu said, “I extremely delighted and I must thank my players and my technical staff.
“Winning the league title six times is a wonderful achievement and we are going to enjoy for some time,” added Nyinawumuntu, who also doubles as the national women team.
AS Kigali reached the final after brushing aside Gisozi-based The Winners, while Kamonyi eliminating Inyemera of Gicumbi District in the last four.
