SC KIYOVU will find it tough against APR in the semi final round of the 2014 Peace Cup competition after three of their players joined Burundi’s Vital’O.

Former SC Kiyovu coach Gilbert Yaounde Kanyankole boosted his side by offering early deals to goalie Andre Mazimpaka and midfielders Christian Mbirizi and Tuyisenge Pekeyake.

Both Mazimpaka and Tuyisenge signed one-year contract deals while Mbirizi was given a two-year contract deal.

Kanyankole is also expected to lure more players namely Ally Musa Muhadjili Hakizimana and Hussein Habimana to join him in Bujumbura to help them win the Burundian football league.

With the trio heading to Burundi, SC Kiyovu interim head coach Ashraf Munyaneza Kadubiri will have a big challenge lining up a squad which will help them overpower APR to qualify for the finals.

They go into the return leg with a 1-3 goal deficit but a 2-0 win for the Mumena-based club can power them into the finals.

However, their woes have been extended as they add up to the suspensions of their key players such as Hussein Habimana and Mukamba Musombwa who were sent off in the first leg.

APR will also miss defensive pair of skipper Ismail Nshutiyamagara and Emery Bayisenge. Bayisenge was sent off for two bookable offences, while Nshutiyamagara too will miss the second leg following bookings in two successive games.

Besides the APR-SC Kiyovu match, Sec Academy will host Police in the second semi final.

The second leg is scheduled for June 27 while the final is slated for July 4, when the country celebrates Liberation Day.
