Mariga, Mandela out of Libya friendly
Inter Milan midfielder MacDonald Mariga and Santos defender Brian Mandela have been ruled out of the Harambee Stars friendly match against Libya, slated for the 6th of February in Tunis, Tunisia. Both are nursing injuries hence will be unavailable for selection.
In their place, Coach James Nandwa has called in Ulinzi Stars defender Mulinge Ndetto and AFC Leopards midfielder Charles Okwemba to fill the gaps left by the two.
According to FKF, Jockins Atudo and Humphrey Mieno from Azam and David Gateri from South Africa will join the team currently in residential training at the Moi Sports Centre Kasarani on Thursday.
The European based legion led by Captain Dennis Oliech from AJ Ajaccio in France, Mugubi Victor from Celtic, Ayub Timbe and Arnold Origi will join the team in Tunis.
Stars are expected to depart for Tunisia on Sunday. The friendly will be played at the Sfax Stadium on Wednesday.
Both teams are using the match to prepare for their World Cup 2014 Qualifiers which start in March.
