Burkina Faso appeals against Pitroipa's red card

Burkina Faso captain Charles Kabore has urged the Confederation of African Football to rescind the red card that attacking midfielder cum winger Jonathan Pitroipa received against Ghana during their semi final in the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Burkinabe team manager, Gualbert Kabore speaking at the team hotel, said that they had already written an official letter to appeal against the dubious decision to send off the star player in the dying minutes of the tie.

They are awaiting confirmation on a final decision from the tournament organizers.

A social media campaign has also begun to appeal against the sending off of the 26 year old forward. Head coach, Paul Put additionally suggested perhaps sarcastically, that he thought Tunisian referee Slim Jdidi was “the best player of the day”.
