Rayon jump to league summit
Six-time league champion Rayon Sport has assumed the leadership of the Primus league after registering a 4-0 win over Marines on Wednesday.
The blues side secured maximum points following a brilliant hattrick courtesy of Cedric Amissi and a goal from skipper Aphrodis Hategikimana.
Coach Didier Gomes da Rosa said on Thursday, “I am happy for the performance and the level displayed by players. We only have to keep our composure and win the remaining matches so as to lift the title,”
The blues who are gunning their seventh league title since 2005 lead the standings with 35 points.
Police failed to maintain their position after playing a goalless draw away to Mukura at Kamena grounds. The Cops have dropped to second position with 34 points, two points ahead of APR on third position.
Marines and Isonga are tied in the relegation zone with 12 and 11 points in 17 matches played this season.
