Police Coach Goran warns LLB to expect fightback in Kigali

Police FC head coach Goran Kopunovic saw cause for optimism despite seeing his side slump to a crushing 0-1 loss against LLB Academic in the African Confederation Cup on Sunday.

Police now need a win in Kigali in a fortnight’s time to advance to the next round.

However, a 1-0 defeat away will sum up their participation in the Confederation Cup.

And Goran had no excuse for his team’s performance after the match, but sounded a warning that Police FC will overturn the score and advance to the next stage.

“I believe we can progress. We lost a tough battle, but the war isn’t over yet and we will not give up. We will continue to work hard and believe that we can advance despite all our problems.”

“We clearly didn’t defend well in the first half and we paid the price for that,” added Goran.

It was a miserable weekend for Rwandan teams in the CAF competitions with the league champions APR FC also losing 1-2 at home to Burundian champions Vital’O on Saturday.
