Preliminary round-2nd Leg

Sunday

Vital’O vs APR

APR FC jets out today for the second leg clash against Burundi’s Vital’o in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions league which will be staged at Prince Louis Rwagasore stadium on Sunday.

The Burundian champions beat APR 2-1 two weeks ago and APR needs an outright win to progress to the next stage. The military side departs for Bujumbura this morning aboard RwandAir.

Coach Eric Nshimiyimana says he has been working hard with the team and he is confident his team will hit the mark in Bujumbura.

He notes the Peace Cup win against second division side Sun Rise last weekend is a morale booster to the team and says he has noted great leaps of improvement within the team.

“We have had enough preparations and players are ready for the hard task in Bujumbura. We will work hard and wait to see what happens on Sunday,”

“We have worked hard and it is possible to overcome the 2-1 deficit and I believe it’s going to be a different game compared to the first leg,” added Nshimiyimana.

Besides striker Farouk Ruhinda and goalie Jean Luc Ndayishimiye, the rest of the players are injury-free and will be hoping to snatch a qualification victory.

A 2-0 win over Vital’ O will grant passage for the military side to the next round.
