LEADERS Rayon Sport extended their quest for the Primus League title with a 2-0 victory over rivals Mukura on Sunday at Stade de Kigali.

 

Knowing well the impact of securing amximum points, the blues started like a house on fire in the rainy conditions and were 1-0 within 30 minutes thanks to a fantastic volley from Cedric Amissi.

 

Amissi created a second goal within the thirty minutes of the second half with skipper Aphrodis Hategikimana extending their lead to 2-0 with a well placed goal.

 

The win helped to go four points ahead of second place Police with 38 points in 18 matches played so far.

 

In other matches, Amagaju shocked Musanze to a 1-0 victory while La Jeunesse beat Etincelles 1-0 away in Rusizi. AS Muhanga held AS Kigali to a goalless draw while relegation battling sides Isonga and Marines settlled for a goalless draw.

 

The standings remain unchanged as the blues continue to control the league table while Etincelles and Isonga are striuggling in the relegation zone with 13 and 12 points respectively.
