AMAVUBI head coach Milutin Sredojovic Micho may call up to twelve professional players for the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Mali scheduled to be staged in Kigali on March 24.
The Serb confirmed the development in Monday’s news conference following his return from Europe where he had gone to access the level and shapeness of Rwandan based players.
He is closely monitoring nine professional players in Europe namely; Solomon Nirisarike [Antweerp], Jimmy Mulisa [Tubize], Reinford Jessy [Namur], Henri Munyaneza [Sint-Niklaas], Steven Godfroid [Union Saint-Gilloise], Edwin Ouon [AEL Limassol], Patrick Vouho [AEL Limassol], Jean Paul Lutula [Unattached] and Elias Uzamukunda [AS Cannes].
On the African scene include; Olivier Karekezi [AC Bizertin], Haruna Niyonzima [Yanga Fc], Mbuyu Twite [Yanga Fc] and Dady Birori [AS Vita].
“The professional players will spice up competition for a place on Amavubi team which face Mali. We will test everyone in a friendly match against Libya which will be a bg chance to test the players’ character,”
Benin tops group H with 4 points followed by Mali and Algeria with three points apiece.
Rwanda is bottom with a solitary point making this month’s qualifier against Mali so crucial to the bedraggled Amavubi. Amavubi will go into Mali’s qualifier well aware that anything short of three points will all but end their dream of playing in Brazil.
